pakistani actors and their worst drama roles

The Pakistani showbiz industry is filled with some of the most renowned and talented celebrities. Some have made their name in Lollywood (the Pakistani film industry). While some Pakistani actors even got offers to work in Bollywood and Hollywood!

However, in some cases, they also fall victim to picking poorly written scripts, bad characters, and working with failing directors. Sometimes, their acting leaves a lot to be desired.

Here is a list of famous Pakistani celebrities and their very questionable performance in the drama industry. You will be saying to yourself – what were they even thinking?!

1. Ayeza Khan

Ayeza Khan became the next big thing in the showbiz industry after her remarkable performance in “Pyaray Afzal.”

However, she could not hold that position for long. She took a break from acting and made a comeback in a project produced by her husband Danish Taimoor – “Shehrnaz.” She plays a poor girl who wants to become an actress no matter what the cost.

Her role in the drama was not well-received by fans and the drama was a huge flop.

2. Adnan Siddiqui

Adnan Siddiqui is one of the most brilliant actors, who not only had the good fortune of working with the finest people in Pakistani showbiz, but also had the privilege to have worked alongside Angelina Jolie in “A Mighty Heart“.

Even though he’s known for being very picky while choosing his projects, mistakes do happen. His role in the drama “Janam” was dubbed extremely cringe-worthy and cheesy by viewers.

Adnan played the role of an overly devoted husband who was head over heels for his wife. There were some cozy scenes between him and Saba Qamar, which made the viewership feel uncomfortable while watching it.

3. Maya Ali

Pakistan’s very own sweetheart Maya Ali is famous for her role in “Diyar-E-Dil.”

But have you seen Maya’s performance in “Zid” and “Sanam?” Fans really disliked her character in those dramas.

Sanam was based on love, friendship, jealousy, and relationships. In this drama, Maya’s character was shown as a hardworking girl who moves away with her mother after her father’s death.

In the drama Zid, her character is shown as a working woman who receives a lot of attention from her father which reflected a lot of stubbornness. Neither of these portrayals was fun to watch and had the audience feeling bored.

4. Fawad Khan

It might be a shocker to see the absolute heart-throb Fawad Khan’s name on this list. Everything he does becomes such a huge hit, largely thanks to his charisma.

However, Fawad chose not one, but two very terrible roles. One was in the drama serial “Ashk”, and the latter in “Numm.”

His role in Ashk was of a man named ‘Rohail’, who travels to Pakistan to marry his cousin. Furthermore, his character in Numm also comes back to Pakistan after completing his degree at Oxford University and is forced to marry a servant in his household.

These roles were uncomfortable to watch, and even Fawad’s good looks couldn’t make up for the weak plot lines.

5. Hamza Ali Abbasi

Hamza Ali has been credited for taking on very selective roles. However, his portrayal of Salahuddin in “Man Mayal” has long being a matter of controversy.

Most of his fans were sorely disappointed by the lack of character development and no pay off for Salahuddin in the end. Salahuddin’s character was generic and boring. It was centered around a man who was madly in love with a girl he couldn’t get married to.

6. Humayun Saeed

One of the most iconic actors in Lollywood, Humayun Saeed, also gave a questionable performance in the drama serial “Bin Roye”, depicting the blockbuster film of the same name. Humayun played the role of a man who loses his wife. He is then married to his sister-in-law who despises him.

However, it was an irrelevant project that consisted of a story that took too long to get to the point.

7. Iqra Aziz

Iqra Aziz, famous for her role in “Suno Chanda” and the critically acclaimed drama serial “Ranjha Ranjha Kerdi”, took an unpredictable turn when she took on a very offensive and ridiculous role in “Jhooti.”

The drama revolved around her character Nimra, who has the habit of lying to get what she wants. This performance reinforced some of the most toxic stereotypes in our society about women. No wonder her performance left a bad impression on viewers.
